Meet Our Instructors
Joseph Harris
Combat Instructor
Joseph has 8 years of extensive training in Muay Thai kickboxing, MMA and submission grappling under Jeff Ruth, Leo Dalla and several other nationally ranked competitors. Joseph is a certified nutritionist as
well as certified Performance Trainer. He is well versed in proper flexibility training, athlete specific nutrition, injury prevention and plyometrics. Joseph has a positive attitude and a strong grasp on how
to teach quickly and effectively from beginner to advanced. His ability to articulate along with his patience and expertise makes him an especially effective teacher for beginning students.
Joe Duron
Boxing Coach
Joe is professional boxer originally fighting in Houston Texas, trained out of George Foreman's Youth Center. Joe had the privilege of training for a short time under Charlie Shipes, Foreman's trainer during his second world
title fight against Moorer. Joe fought for five years, and has trained for three more with countless sparring sessions, mainly with pro fighters. George Foreman gave Joe the opportunity to fight in the National
PAL tournament in Orlando Florida in 2000. Even though Joe's fighting career has been relatively short, his love for the sport is as strong as it was when he first started.
Brandon Quarles
Boxing Instructor
Brandon has been boxing since the age of fourteen. His resume and background include:
- 1st Place Golden Gloves Novice Division (3 times)
- Chosen as a Member of Team Viriginia during fights vs. Team Canada where
he won the USA tournaments and went on to the regionals.
- Assisted in training of IBF champ Eric Akin, former WBO champ Chop Chop Corly,
and former Sugar Ray Leonard prospect Luther Smith.
- Joined the Pro ranks at 154lb. (Jr. Middleweight) and a current member of former
Jr. Middleweight Champ Kassim Ouma's training camp.
Jay Bae
Guest Instructor
Jay has been involved in martial arts for almost 30 years. He started with Karate and Tae Kwon Do at age 8 and competed until his freshmen year of college. He also has a background in wrestling, in which he competed through Middle and High school. He
initially learned some Judo at a very young age under his father, who was an Asian champion. Jay has been seriously studying Judo for the past 17 years, beginning his training in college. He has black belts in Shotokan Karate, Tae Kwon Do and Judo. He
is also actively training in Muay Thai and teaches Judo at Jeff Ruth's school. His extensive knowledge in kicks and throws allow him to stand out at any MMA school, making him a well rounded and qualified MMA instructor.
